Miss Turner Mrs Grimason Mrs Muir
In our school we have three Primary One classes. Our teachers are Miss Turner, Mrs. Grimason and Mrs.Muir. There are always lots of interesting and fun things to do. We learn to read, write and count of course but we also learn about our world and each other. It is important that we make friends and always try to help and share. Sometimes the friends we make in P.1 stay our friends all through school and maybe even forever.
We have a very special new playroom, which our classroom assistants Mrs Finn, Miss Kidd and Mrs McCollum have been busy getting ready for us. We will take turns at playing there and doing all sorts of fun things that help us learn.
There are times when we leave our classrooms to go to the Hall for singing, P.E or assembly. Every class in the school gets the chance to be on the stage and take assembly. It can be a bit scary, but great fun.
When we go outside to play, we have games and squiggly lines all over our playground and two sandpits with toys just for us. Then, if we want to chat with our friends, have a wee rest or even sunbathe, there are long wooden benches in our very own seated area.
We have visitors to P.1 too. Andy from T.A.C.T. Wildlife Centre brings in his animals to our classrooms. It is great when the owl flies across the room but even better when a real fox is walking round our desks and sniffing our feet. They must be smelly!
Every year we go on school trips as well. We go to puppet shows in the Civic Centre, The Ark Open Farm and have even been to The Opera House when there is a special show for us.
Come and visit our school sometime and see the really colourful mural we painted with the P.1 boys and girls from St. Joseph’s Primary school. We spent four weeks playing and painting and made lots of new friends. We look forward to the next time we have fun together.
