P.2.
The three P.2. classes are in one corridor beside each other. The teachers’ names are Miss Loney, Miss Tipping, and Mrs McKee.
P.2. is a very busy but fun place to be! We love playing with all the toys in our classrooms. The playhouses and shops are everyones favourites! During the year our shops change from grocery to a Post Office or Chemist and then to a Toy Shop. We build amazing models with Lego, Mobilo and Brio Mec and we have farms, train sets and much more!
We make lots of lovely things to put up on our walls in our classrooms and corridor to make them look nice.
In P.2. we have lots of books and we all love to read. We learn about words, sentences and language when we share our ‘Big Books’ together. We also like to read in our groups and read a library book on our own.
We learn to count in all sorts of different ways and we are brilliant at counting money too! Our teachers think we are really clever when we work out answers in our heads!
Each P.2. class has a nature table. We bring in lots of interesting things for them. We plant different kinds of bulbs and seeds and watch them grow. We even get to take our seedlings home to plant in our own gardens!
During the year we work on the topics of Homes, People Who Help Us, Toys and All Around Us. We learn about different types of homes and what they are made of. Fire-fighters and Police Officers come to visit us at school with their vehicles.
We try hard to do our best work. Our teachers give us stickers and treats when they are pleased with us. We love taking our work up to show Mr. Greer and to get one of his special stickers!
We go on trips to the ‘Trian’ in Armagh to learn about Gulliver and the land of Lilliput, and we go to Belfast Zoo. Sometimes we visit our friends at St.Joseph’s and St.Aloysius or they come to visit us. We have great fun together!
